Our Food Bank was established in 2012. Every Wednesday we provide bags of food to people who need them. All the food we hand out is either donated or bought with money given to us by individuals and local groups. On average we distribute 15 bags of food per week. Clients are referred to us by Health Visitors, GP's, Job Centres, Citizens Advice Bureau and other local agencies.
There are many reasons why people need our help: sickness, unemployment, relationship breakdown, low wages, seasonal jobs, delays to benefit payments, loss of free school meals during holidays, mental health problems or sheer bad luck... We don't judge. We help. All the staff are unpaid volunteers. Premises and equipment are provided at favourable rates
